Participant Experiences
What Participants Say
The most straightforward way to understand what a programme offers is to hear from the people who have completed it. Below are accounts from past participants across all three programmes.

Wanchai Srisuphan
Risk Analyst, Bangkok
I completed the Foundations programme after moving into a role that carried risk responsibilities I hadn't held before. What I found useful was the pace — nothing was rushed past before the next topic arrived. I came away with frameworks I actually used in the following month, not ones I'd have to look up again.
Foundations of Risk Inquiry — March 2025
Natthaporn Tansakul
Internal Audit Manager, Chonburi
The Practical Risk Advisory programme covered things I'd been navigating by instinct for three years. The workplace project was valuable precisely because it was real — I chose a challenge from my organisation, and the faculty supervision helped me think through it more carefully than I would have done alone.
Practical Risk Advisory — January 2025
Pairat Kongkiatpong
Chief Risk Officer, Bangkok
The Senior Stewardship Programme is a proper commitment, which I appreciated. The partner engagement component was demanding, but that is precisely the point. The mentoring relationship gave me a useful counterpart during the eighteen weeks — someone to think with, which is harder to find at senior levels than it should be.
Senior Risk Stewardship — April 2025
Siriporn Rattanaphon
Compliance Consultant, Bangkok
I was sceptical before I began, having sat through risk courses before that had little to do with what actually happens in organisations. This was different. The faculty speak from experience, which shows in how they handle questions — they don't redirect to the framework, they engage with the substance of what you're asking.
Practical Risk Advisory — February 2025
Arthit Chatchawalarp
Finance Manager, Nonthaburi
My organisation sponsored me for the Foundations programme. The evening format worked well alongside a full working day. The cohort was small enough that discussion felt genuine, and I got to hear from people in very different sectors dealing with the same underlying questions I was encountering.
Foundations of Risk Inquiry — March 2025
Maliwan Laohaphan
Audit Committee Member, Bangkok
I joined the Senior Stewardship Programme because I wanted a more grounded understanding of enterprise risk governance before my next audit committee term began. The programme covered the architecture of risk oversight in a way that was immediately applicable to the governance conversations I was already having.

Three accounts of how participation in a Garuda Strategy programme intersected with a participant's professional situation.
Foundations of Risk Inquiry
Moving From Finance to Risk Responsibility
The Situation
A senior finance analyst was asked to take on risk co-ordination responsibilities after her company expanded. She had no formal risk background and found existing materials either too abstract or too procedural to use.
The Approach
She enrolled in the Foundations programme to build a working vocabulary and practical methodology before establishing the company's risk identification process. The case exercises in weeks three and four were directly relevant to her sector.
What Changed
Within three months, she had structured the company's first formal risk register and facilitated two identification workshops with management. The frameworks from the course gave her a basis to conduct those conversations with confidence.
Practical Risk Advisory
Improving Board Reporting in a Listed Company
The Situation
An internal audit manager at a listed Thai company had been producing risk reports that the board reviewed but rarely acted on. He recognised the reports were formal without being genuinely useful, but was unsure how to change them.
The Approach
His workplace project for the Advisory programme focused on restructuring his organisation's risk reporting process. With faculty supervision, he redesigned the report format, the meeting agenda, and the way risks were framed for director attention.
What Changed
In the six months following the programme, risk committee meeting time shifted from mostly status updates to mostly substantive discussion. Three material risks were escalated and addressed that had previously remained on the register without action.
Senior Risk Stewardship Programme
Redesigning Enterprise Risk Governance Before a Merger
The Situation
A chief risk officer at a mid-size company was facing a merger that would roughly double the organisation's scale. The existing risk governance structure had not been designed for that size, and she needed to redesign it before the merger completed.
The Approach
The partner organisation engagement component of her Stewardship Programme was with the organisation involved in the merger. She worked with a faculty mentor on the governance architecture question over twelve weeks, drawing on the programme's risk governance module as conceptual scaffolding.
What Changed
She completed the engagement with a proposed governance structure that the combined board subsequently adopted. The programme provided both the conceptual depth and the structured space to work through a problem she was simultaneously managing in practice.
